Fun & Educational Opportunities

There is music in every child. Our goal is to find & nurture it.

Harmony Keys

Ages 5 1/2 years to 9 years

Harmony Keys was created to prepare students for a private lesson environment when they are older while also granting them the perks of a social environment with other kids their age.

Each student will have a folder to work out of that has all their songs and exercises in it they will take to and from class each week, so they always know what to practice at home. They will learn a minimum of 24 songs per unit, and once those are completed, graduate onto the next level with their classmates!

ENROLL ANYTIME!

Class size limited to 4 students per class

Benefits of  Harmony Keys

1. 60-minutes vs 30-minutes

For the same cost as traditional private lessons, the students receive an additional 30-minutes of instruction and independent study. Their total time spent weekly in the

classroom doubles, which then promotes extra learning and understanding of new concepts. They also get a lot of the same private lesson benefits, including participation in recitals and our Musical Scales of Achievement program.

2. Promotes independence and self-study

Students get a personal folder with all their monthly work in it, so they can learn at their own pace and are not held back by a group setting. If they are learning quicker than their peers they can look ahead to the next song in their folder, or pick out additional fun songs to work on. In class they still receive one-on-one instruction and assistance from a teacher if they have questions about a song.

3. Community with their peers

The class format introduces a social aspect that makes it fun, and can help students recognize and retain new concepts better. The students can quiz each other using flashcards, and share songs they write with each other. Students also get to celebrate their accomplishments together whenever a student passes their unit!

4. Group classes vs private lessons

In our experience, group classes hold many benefits compared to traditional private lessons. Kids learn faster due to the longer instructional time and friendly competition with their peers, which also means they don't have to practice at home as often. Private lessons are always a great option and will always remain available, but give Harmony Keys a try!

Testimonials

My 5 year old son has been attending Kiddie Keys for about 6 months and has just moved on to private piano lessons with Jason A. Kiddie Keys was amazing, you can hear the fun and laughter from the waiting room. He enjoyed learning the basic piano keys, games and exploring new instruments. He’s had 2 lessons with his new teacher Jason, they have gone great, he is kind and patient. We missed one class and Jason emailed us a video of the lesson so we can practice at home :) I’m very excited to watch my son grow musically at VMA!

Vancouver music academy has been wonderful for both of my kids!! My oldest started in kiddy keys and graduated to private piano lessons with Ms. Ashley and she is doing great! She can read music and her teacher helps her stay motivated to challenge herself and learn new songs. My youngest just started kiddy keys with Ms Claire and he loves it. Every Monday he can’t wait to get back to class. Highly recommend this place. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful. And the recitals are awesome! 10 out of 10

My son's been attending VMA for about 5 years now. He started in Kiddie Keys and now does solo piano lessons as well as voice classes. We love the teachers and the staff, they're very communicative and helpful!
